Early morning reveries.
Let’s start from scratch. Pretend we don’t know anything about worldly concepts. All we have are our senses, sight and thoughts to deliberate our experiences. We know nothing about your God, my God, their God and neither do we know about religions and culture. All we know is that we exist in a complex world where almost everything has a specific purpose. We don’t know where we came from, how we got here or why we got here. Okay, go, deliberate away.
I have been going through this thought process for a while now, pretending that I am living in a world where there are no concepts or beliefs that indoctrinates the world. If this really is the case, what would I come up with?
For some reason, an infinite regression does not make sense, just because I can’t imagine something coming from nothing. So there, I accept Aristotle’s idea of a prime mover. So is this prime mover, God? Before you call blasphemy on me for asking such a question, let me rephrase the thought process. I am currently imagining myself living in a world where the concept of God does not exist. Can I explain this prime mover? Not really. Is this prime mover the first piece of domino that leads to the creation of the universe, or is this prime mover the creator of the universe? Is this world truly random, simply initiated by this unmoved mover, or was the unmoved mover the brain behind this carefully planned world? Was the world planned, or simply a chain reaction, initiated by a prime mover that we call “God”?
I am aware that I am walking on a thin line between enlightening myself and committing a blasphemous act of doubting faith. And I admit to be a little shaken by what conscious thinking can do to a person. But one cannot help the questions that arises at three in the morning as one tries to empty the head, hoping for a good night sleep and not of reflecting on what is the ultimate truth.
